FirstHack Campus
Run a watched test on your students’ own laptops.
The browser does the invigilating: camera, microphone, full screen and tab switches, with a photograph at the moment of every flag. No lab to book, nothing for the student to install, and a report on your desk before they have left the room.
Set up a paper and sit it yourself before you show anybody — no card needed to look around.
How a sitting runs
Write questions or pull them from the bank. MCQs and coding questions, with your own marks and timings.
Upload the roll list. Every student gets a private link; nobody can sit somebody else's paper.
On their own laptop, in their own room. Nothing to install and no lab to book.
A score, a per-topic breakdown, and every flag with the photograph attached — per student and per batch.
What the browser watches
Every line here is something the software actually records. There is no behaviour score and no guess about whether somebody “looks suspicious” — only events, each with the time it happened and the photograph taken at that moment.
A photograph at the moment of every flag, not a video stream. Nobody is watched continuously.
Flags when the candidate leaves the frame, and when a second face appears in it.
The paper runs full screen. Leaving it, switching tabs or blurring the window is recorded with a timestamp.
Copy, paste and right-click are logged, so answers that arrive from somewhere else are visible.
A monitor plugged in mid-test is flagged, because that is where a second paper usually sits.
Flags a voice in the room and keeps a short audio clip of that moment — audio only.
Photographs and audio clips are served only to your own college’s signed-in staff — the files sit behind a deny-all rule and every request is checked against the college that ran the paper.
The questions every college asks
Does the student have to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser they already have. They open their private link, allow the camera and microphone, and the paper goes full screen.
What happens if a student’s internet drops?
Answers are saved as they are given, not at the end, so a dropped connection costs the minutes offline and nothing else. They reopen the link and carry on with the clock where it stands.
Is anybody watching a live video feed?
No, and the software cannot do that. It takes a photograph at the moment of a flag and keeps a short audio clip when the microphone hears a voice. Your staff see a wall of who is sitting and the flags as they arrive.
Can it decide a student cheated?
It does not try. It records events — left full screen, second face, pasted text — with times and photographs, and a human on your side reads them. Any product that claims to judge intent from a webcam is selling you a guess.
Who can see the recordings?
Only staff signed in to your own college account. Every file request is checked against the college that ran that paper.
Can we try it before we buy it?
Create the account, build a paper and sit it yourself. Nothing is charged until you choose a plan.
Run your next internal test on it
Build a paper this afternoon, send it to one batch, and read the report tonight.
