Terms & Conditions

Last updated 18 August 2026

1. Eligibility

Participation is open to students currently enrolled at a recognised college or university in India. You may be asked to show a valid student ID. Organisers may verify eligibility at any stage and disqualify entries that do not meet it.

2. Registration & fees

The registration fee is ₹200 per participant unless an early-bird or promotional price applies at the time of payment. Every team member registers and pays individually. Your slot is confirmed only once payment is successfully received.

3. Refund policy

Registration fees are non-refundable once payment is completed, as your slot is reserved and mentor capacity is allocated on that basis. The only exception: if the organisers cancel the event entirely, all paid participants are refunded in full within 14 working days.

If a payment is debited from your account but your registration does not confirm, contact team@inithack.com with your ticket code. Failed transactions are typically auto-reversed by your bank within 5–7 working days.

4. Teams

Teams may have between 1 and 4 members. Team composition may be locked by the organisers at any point after a round opens. Once locked, members cannot be added or removed.

5. Submissions & deadlines

Submissions must be made through this platform before the published deadline for each round. Deadlines are enforced automatically — submissions are not accepted after a round closes, for any reason including technical difficulties on your side. Submit early.

All submitted work must be original and created by your team. Using open-source libraries, frameworks and AI coding assistants is permitted; submitting someone else's project as your own is not, and results in immediate disqualification.

6. Intellectual property

You retain full ownership of everything you build. By participating you grant the organisers a non-exclusive licence to display your project name, description, and screenshots for promotional purposes relating to InitHack 2026.

7. Judging & results

Submissions are evaluated by a judging panel on innovation, technical execution, impact, and presentation. Judges' decisions are final and not open to appeal. Results are published on this platform and communicated by email. The organisers reserve the right to withhold prizes if no submission meets the required standard.

8. Prizes

Prize amounts are as advertised and subject to applicable Indian tax deductions. Winners must provide valid identification and bank details to receive prize money. Prizes are disbursed within 30 working days of the results announcement.

9. Code of conduct

Harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, or abusive behaviour toward participants, mentors, judges or organisers results in immediate removal without refund.

10. Changes to the event

The organisers may change dates, format, round structure, prize distribution, or any other aspect of the event where reasonably necessary. Material changes will be communicated by email.
