The selection test
A live assessment on your own domain, taken on your own schedule.
- Book a slot. Right after you apply, pick any time within 48 hours. Reschedule up to twice.
- Take the live assessment. Questions are from your chosen domain only, at the level a beginner intern should know.
- Hear back. Results come with your application decision, by email.
Why we take a test
There are only 50 seats. A resume says what you have done; a short test on the basics of your domain shows where you are today.
It is the same kind of paper for every applicant, so selection is on merit, not on your college name or who you know.
It also helps your mentor: we know where to start with you from day one.
Week by week
A structure that ends with something you can show.
Meet your mentor, set up your tools, finish the fundamentals sprint.
Weekly tasks with reviews. You learn by fixing real feedback.
Build your capstone project in your domain, with check-ins.
Present your work. Certificates and scholarships are decided here.
Official documents
Every document carries a unique ID and a QR code that anyone, including a recruiter, can verify.
What you walk away with
No certificate for showing up. Everything here is earned by the work.
About the ₹299 fee
Paid once, when you submit. It covers your live domain assessment, the review of your application, and it keeps the seats for students who are serious.
There is nothing else to pay at any stage: not for selection, not for the certificate, not for the scholarship. If anyone asks you for money in FirstHack's name, it is not us.
Questions
Who can apply?
Any college student in India, any branch, any year. What matters is the work you are willing to put in.
How much time does it take?
Plan for about 10 to 12 hours a week for 6 weeks. Tasks have weekly deadlines, so you can fit them around classes and exams.
How are interns selected?
From your application and a 60-minute live assessment in your domain. There are only 50 seats across all domains, so selection is on merit. We read every application. You hear back either way.
What is the selection test like?
60 multiple-choice questions on the fundamentals of your domain, 60 minutes, no negative marking. It is a live assessment on your domain, and you book it yourself for any time within 48 hours of applying. A laptop or desktop with Chrome or Edge works best.
What if my internet drops during the test?
Your answers save as you click. Reopen the test page and continue; the clock keeps running, so reconnect quickly.
How do I verify an offer letter or certificate?
Scan the QR code on it, or enter its ID at the verification page. It shows the intern's name, domain and status.
Is there a stipend?
No monthly stipend. Top performers in each domain receive a scholarship at the end of the internship.
Can I apply to more than one domain?
One application per cycle, in one domain. Pick the one you want to go deep in.
What if I am not selected?
You get a clear answer, and you can apply again next cycle. The fee covers the review of your application and is not refunded once it has been reviewed.
Your winter, well spent.
Applications take about five minutes. Keep your resume PDF ready.
